Cooking Instructions for Frozen Lamb Rump Mini Roasts
Preparation:
- Thawing (Optional but Recommended): For best results, we recommend thawing the lamb rump mini roasts in the refrigerator overnight. This will ensure even cooking. If you’re short on time, you can cook them directly from frozen.
Cooking from Frozen:
- Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Season the Meat: Remove the frozen lamb rump mini roasts from their packaging. Drizzle a little olive oil over the roasts and season generously with salt, pepper, and any herbs or spices you prefer (rosemary, garlic, and thyme work beautifully with lamb).
- Searing (Optional): For an extra layer of flavor and a crisp exterior, you can quickly sear the lamb in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side before placing it in the oven. If cooking from frozen, sear directly after seasoning.
- Roasting:
- Place the lamb rump mini roasts on a roasting tray.
- If cooking from thawed, roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer it more well done.
- If cooking from frozen, roast for 35-40 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time slightly depending on the size of the roasts and your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (60°C/140°F for medium-rare, 70°C/160°F for medium, and 75°C/170°F for well done).
- Resting: Once cooked, remove the lamb from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes under a piece of foil. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a tender and juicy roast.
- Serve: Slice and serve your lamb rump mini roasts with your favorite sides. Enjoy!
These instructions ensure your lamb rump mini roasts are flavorful and cooked to perfection, whether you’re starting from frozen or thawed.
